“Perfume” a BBC Documentary – Episode 2

In the second episode of the BBC documentary “Perfume”, we follow three different types of perfumers. First is Jean Claude Ellena, the nose behind the success of the French house Hermès. We learn about Jean Claude’s process of fragrance creating through a artistic eye. An American, Christopher Brosius, is punk star with know-how to create scents that really speak to us. The past and present come together through the creative concept of this New York artist. He creates a fragrance for a client with specific needs for a scent evocative of England. Lastly, we meet Jean Guichard, the principal of the Parisian school for perfumers operated by the fragrance house Givaudan. We get a better understanding of the selection process for students interested in the world of perfume.

I found this series to be very informative. I enjoyed how it touched on many aspects of the perfume business from education to production. Thanks for your comment, sherapop.
