SOPHIA GROJSMAN

sophia_grojsman_1Monument of contemporary perfumery, Sophia Grojsman was born in Belarus. She recalls when very young, she’d rather smell roses, jasmine, and flowers around the house then play with her toys. After studying chemistry, she emigrates to New York and attends the IFF laboratories where she learned her profession with Ernest Shiftan, one of the greatest American perfumers in history. She was the first one to reverse the classic proportions of perfumes. Sophia Grojsman is also famous for her fascination for the rose, which she uses in most of her creations. At Frédéric Malle’s request, she applies herself for the first time the art of candle perfumery.
